Call Out 25 10th May 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog teams (Alan & Molly and Jenny & Troy), with 2 dog teams on stand by, assisted Police Scotland (Lothians & The Scottish Borders Division) and Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team along with a dog from SARDA Scotland in the search for a vulnerable 43 year old woman missing in the Penicuick area.

Outcome Relevant details: The dog teams were stood down as they arrived into the search areas after the woman was located safe and well.

Call Out 24 08th May 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog teams (Andy & Dugald and Liz & Faelan), assisted Police Scotland (Forth Valley Division) in the search for a vulnerable 13 year old girl in the Callander Park area of Falkirk.

Outcome Relevant details: The dog teams were stood down after the girl returned home on her own accord safe and well.

Outcome Relevant details: The Dog teams were stood down on route after the female was located safe and well.

Call Out 22 20th April 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Kenny & Lexi) along with 1 dog from SARDA Scotland, assisted Police Scotland (Argyll & West Dunbartonshire Division) in the search for a vulnerable male near the golf course at Lochgilphead .

Outcome Relevant details: The Dog teams were stood down after the body of a male was located. (FATALITY)

Call Out 21 18th April 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog teams (Jenny & Troy and Darryl & Ruby) assisted Police Scotland (The Lothians & Scottish Borders Division) and Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team, in the search for a missing vulnerable shepherd near Galashiels.

Outcome Relevant details: The Dog teams were stood down after the shepherd was located safe and well wandering on the hillside by mountain rescue personnel.

Call Out 20 10th April 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Calum & Dochas) along with 2 dogs from SARDA Scotland, assisted Police Scotland (Tayside Division) and Tayside Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where 2 male climbers became lost in darkness and white out conditions in Corrie Fee, Glen Clova.

Outcome Relevant details: The Dog team and Tayside MRT personnel located the 2 relieved climbers and led them to safety.

Call Out 19 6th April 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Police Scotland (Forth Valley Division) and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where 2 hillwalkers became lost and cragfast in low cloud near to the summit of Beinn Dubhchraig still in full winter snow conditions.

Outcome Relevant details: The Dog team and Killin MRT personnel made progress up the mountain from the Auchreoch Glen. The lost walkers had provided an approximate Grid Reference which the team aimed for and commenced a search in the poor visibility. Happily the 2 walkers had already been located by other hillwalkers and were being led down the mountain towards the search teams and the welcome sight of Search Dog Dugald.

The walkers were appreciative of the teams efforts and were uninjured and relieved to be led to safety.

Call Out 18 23rd March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Darryl & Ruby) assisted Strathclyde Police and Arran Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where during severe snow and blizzard conditions the occupants of 3 remote farms became cut off.

Outcome Relevant details: The dog team made it through the severe drifts to the farms where the occupants were requiring support and medicines, which was provided.

This incident occurred during a week of severe snow storms in South west Scotland and Arran which was featured in the media and TV Channels across the UK. Many homes became stranded and power was lost due to electricity power lines being affected by the ice and snow.

Call Out 17 24th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog team (Paul & Cairn and Liz & Faelin) assisted Fife Constabulary in the search for a missing female runner in Fordell Estate near Dalgety Bay.

Outcome Relevant details: Area of woodland searched by dog teams but nothing was found. Search was to resume the following morning but a body was discovered by a member of the public (FATALITY).

Call Out 16 17th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Central Scotland Police and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where 3 hillwalkers became crag fast near to the summit of Ben More.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog team carried out a search on the upper slopes of Ben More in low visibility and heavy snow conditions. The party of 3 were located by searchers and guided off the mountain safe and well.
