Search and Rescue Dogs Association (Southern Scotland)

2010 - 1 dog assisted Fife Constabulary along with a dog from SARDA Scotland in a search of woodland and fields near to Kelty. Shouts for help had been heard near to a house during the night. Following several hours of searching in the area nothing was found and search stood down.

2010 - Kirkcudbright - details to follow

2010 - 2 dogs assisted Fife Constabulary in the coninutation of a search of a 28 year old male in the Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy areas. After a search through a number of locations nothing was found and dog teams stood down.

2010 - 1 dog assisted Fife Constabulary in the search for a 28 year old suicidal man near Cardenden. Search concentrated around a bridge but dog team subsequently stood down after nothing was found. Enquiry continued by police.

2010 - Keltie - details to follow

2010- 27 - 2 dogs assisted Killin MRT and Central Scotland Police in the search of a hillwalker lost in mist on Cruach Ardrain near Crianlarich. She'd lost her compass and become disorientated whilst decending. Upon mist clearing she managed to speak with police on telephone and have a sighting on farm buildings and loch below which were identified as Inverlochlarig / Loch Voil in Balquhidder Glen. She managed to make her way off the hill unaided as handlers arrived on scene.

2010 - 26 - Minard - details to follow

2010- 25 - 1 dog (and 4 dog teams on standby) assisted Ochils MRT and Central Scotland Police in the search for a vulnerable 25 year old female. The young woman had gone walking in the Ochil Hills above Menstrie, Clackmannanshire and remained missing overnight. Search teams subsequently traced the woman the following day on the steep slopes of Myreton Hill and she was led to safety.

2010- 24 - 1 dog assisted Lomond MRT and Central Scotland Police in the search for a male hillwalker disorientated and lost in misty conditions on Garloch Hill in the Campsie Fells. The man was eventually found cold and tired but otherwise unhurt. He was assisted from the hill by team members.  

2010- 23- 2 dogs assisted Fife Constabluary in the search of a 75 year old man who went missing in the village of Auchtertool near Kirkcaldy. Last seen walking towards his home address the searches were concentrated in fields and woodland near the village. Missing person was subsequently found by searching police officers down a steep hill on the edge of a cornfield. He was alive but suffering effects of exposure and injury as a result of a fall. Handlers assisted with first aid and 4X4 vehicle extraction from the field to the waiting ambulance.
