Call Out 15 12th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Calum & Dochas) assisted Tayside Police and Tayside Mountain Rescue Team along with a dog team from SARDA Scotland, in the search for a missing male from HMS Condor. The dog team were tasked to search Tentsmuir Forest near Leuchars.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog team were stood down after searching the area but nothing was found.

Call Out 14 12th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Central Scotland Police and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where a female hillwalker sustained injuries in a fall on Stob Binnien.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog team and MRT personnel were on stand by at Ben More Farm whilst Rescue 177 airlifted the casualty to hospital. Further assistance was rendered to the casualties companions who became stuck on steep icy slope.

Call Out 13 10th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Central Scotland Police and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in an incident where 2 hillwalkers sustained injuries in a fall on Ben Oss.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog team and MRT personnel were on stand by at Cononish Farm whilst Rescue 177 airlifted the casualties to hospital.

Call Out 12 7th March 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog teams (Andy & Dugald) and a dog teams from SARDA Scotland, assisted Tayside Police and Tayside and Killin Mountain Rescue Teams, in the search for a missing hillwalker on Ben Vorlich. Dog team was tasked to search the northwest side of the mountain from Glenample along the Allt a Choire Fhuadaraich. After several hours of searching in strong blustery conditions nothing was found.

Outcome Relevant details: Happily a dog team from SARDA Scotland located the man a few kms to the southeast of the summit of Ben Vorlich. He was cold tired but otherwise safe and well. He was able to walk of the hill guided by searchers. A successful and happy outcome.

Call Out 11 27th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog teams (Andy & Dugald and Rupert & Lewis) and a dog team from SARDA Scotland, assisted Central Scotland Police and Ochils and Lomond Mountain Rescue Teams, in the search for a vulnerable 56 year old lady missing from her home in Alloa. Dog teams were tasked to search woodland around Braehead Golf Course and the Lornshill area.

Outcome Relevant details: The search was stood down after nothing was found. Further police enquiries ongoing.

This incident was one of three urgent searches for vulnerable missing people ongoing in the Clackmannanshire at the same time stretching resources considerably.

Interest - Dog handler Rupert had to contact the Fire Service after discovering a fire at a disused house within his search area. His quick reaction prevented further damage.

Call Out 10 26th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Central Scotland Police and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in 2 unconnected searches ongoing at the same time. There were 2 overdue hillwalkers at two separate locations, namely Ben More and Stob Choin near Inverlochlarig in Balquhidder Glen.  The Killin MRT split into 2 search teams devoted to the separate incidents.

Outcome Relevant details: Ben More - 72 year old man was reported overdue by local hotel staff where he was staying. Dog team were on standby as Killin MRT Team members located a solitary torch light on the NW side of the mountain. The torch light was the missing man who'd fallen on the steep sided slope. He had minor injuries and was airlifted from the mountain by RAF helicopter. He was returned to his hotel safe and well. The dog team were thereafter directed along with the rest of the Killin MRT to join the search at Inverlochlarig.

Stob Choin (southside of Balquhidder Glen near Inverlochlarig) - 66 year old man was reported overdue whilst walking the Corbett - Stob Choin. Search parties were engaged in searching the northface of the mountain with assistance of the RAF helicopter. Dog Team were tasked to search westside of the mountain and were about to be deploy when the body of a male was located on the northside of Stob Choin by Killin MRT members. (FATALITY)

Call Out 09 17th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Fife Constabulary in the search for a missing 22 year old male from the Kirkcaldy area.

Outcome Relevant details: The male was located by police prior to arrival of the dog team who were stood down on route.

Call Out 08 14th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Andy & Dugald) assisted Central Scotland Police and Killin Mountain Rescue Team, in the search for 2 hillwalkers who became stuck in wintery conditions near to the summit of Ben More.

Outcome Relevant details: Regular contact with the 2 walkers was made by mobile phone and they were subsequently located by search teams sheltering behind rocks near to the summit. They were able to walk off the mountain with guidance of team members.

Call Out 07 10th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 2 dog teams (Andy & Dugald and Calum & Dochas) assisted Tayside Police and Mountain Rescue Teams from Tayside and Killin and dog teams from SARDA Scotland, in the search for 3 missing teenagers overdue from a walk on Ben Vorlich.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog Teams were deployed in full winter conditions with snow falling heavilly during the search. After about 1 hour of searching the 3 boys were located by search teams sheltering from the cold weather, on the southside of the mountain in Glen Artney.

Call Out 06 9th February 2013

Brief Summary of Task: 1 dog team (Paul & Cairn) assisted Fife Constabulary and Ochils MRT in the search for a missing person in the Lomond Hills.

Outcome Relevant details: Dog Team stood down on route after the person was located by police safe and well.
