Search and Rescue Dogs Association (Southern Scotland)

SARDA Southern Scotland relies on public donations in order to maintain and run the organisation. All the money raised go towards training costs and equipment for the Dogs and Handlers. It costs around £15,000 per year to run the organisation, this includes equipment, insurance, training and assessment expenses.

What donations are used for

£5- Buys light sticks to put on the dogs at night so the handler can keep track of the dog

£20- Buys a winching harness so the dog can be safely winched into a helicopter during a rescue

£50- Buys a first aid kit for when a casualty is located

£30- Buys a warm jacket for the dogs to rest in after saerching in winter

£100- Buys a GPS unit to allow the handler and dog to track their location and quickly transmit the location of a casualty

£300- Buys a radio which allows the team to communicate with search control
